When mixed media artist Jenn Lewis moved into her new home in West Harrison, she envisioned a lively, welcoming space that could balance family life with her expressive art. With help from interior designer Lynn Biase—her longtime collaborator—that vision came to life in a home filled with energy, color, and personal style.
Known for her daring, graffiti-inspired artwork, Lewis brings a fearless creativity into everything she touches. “Jenn embraces bold choices, whether on canvas or in her interiors,” says Biase. With two teenagers and a love for hosting friends and family, Lewis wanted a home that was both functional and dynamic—a place where art and everyday living could coexist naturally.

The home's open-plan design, with its high ceilings and abundant natural light, proved ideal for showcasing Lewis’s original pieces. “It was almost as though the house was built for my work,” she notes. The thoughtful use of color throughout the home echoes the vivid tones in her art, creating a seamless connection between the decor and the artwork on the walls.
Blending Old and New With Confidence
While many aspects of the home were reimagined, Biase preserved select features from the previous owners, blending them into the updated aesthetic. In the entryway, she kept the textured grasscloth walls and introduced a striking custom stair runner that leads up to a cozy family area. There, a built-in shelving unit features sculptural objects, while a game table with a chessboard nods to Lewis’s son’s interests.
Transformative Touches in Every Room
Throughout the home, Biase made subtle yet impactful updates. In the powder room, bold wallpaper and a sculptural mirror brought sophistication to the once-muted space. The kitchen saw a modern refresh with black-and-brass accents and sleek lighting fixtures, while bright yellow chairs in the breakfast nook added unexpected cheer. Coordinated cushions in the family room carried the color scheme forward, and a tailor-made coffee table with an upholstered center provided a soft contrast to the room’s cream-colored sofa.
A Dining Room Washed in Soft Color
The dining area glows with gentle elegance, thanks to delicate wallpaper inspired by watercolor art. The gray dining table and chandelier are grounded by antique-brass accents from the surrounding chairs, creating a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. In the living room, Biase introduced a rich rust-toned sectional to play off a dramatic feature wall, enhancing both comfort and contrast.
An Office and Studio That Celebrate Creativity
In Lewis’s office, soft gray walls serve as the perfect canvas for her art. A walnut desk and textured wool rug complete the space, offering a balance of warmth and polish. Nearby, the primary suite includes a peaceful sitting room where one of Lewis’s pieces—a painting of a bookshelf—feels perfectly at home.
